Bridge of the Gods

A little over 40 miles east of Portland, in the Columbia River Gorge, there is a bridge that connects Oregon and Washington. A modest structure with an exalted name, the juxtaposition conjured much more than a conveyance across what seems like a lake that was created by the nearby Bonneville Lock & Dam. Power, connection, human, divine; the reward and cost of it all. (Published March-April 2024)
